*** THIS HAS BEEN SOLD AND IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE ***

Well I have taken a new course in life and have enrolled in Bible collage and now find that I have no time to dedicate to this hobby. So with much pain I have decided that this machine deserves to be living with someone that is willing to give it the care and feeding it deserves. It longs for a steady diet of foam, It is happy with the blu-cor but would thrive on Depron or EPP treats. In return it will give make sure to leave you with the leftover that more often than not can be put to use in this great hobby of ours. It's just amazing. :)

    I have a Phlatprinter MK1 modified to Mk 1.5+

    $500 Pickup Only.

    Some changes I made:
Much of the cabinet was put together so it can easily be taken apart for maintenance, upgrades, etc. Most all of the Important pieces are screwed together with blind nuts and machine screws.
Y axis was converted to a belt drive, this takes the speed up to about 200+ IPM from the original 30ipm. I have gone higher, but run it at 175. This also was modded with bronze bushings on the slide rails.
Z axis was converted to 3/8” 12 pitch ACME. Speed went to about 25ipm. Also changed to bronze bushing on the slide rails.
Large Emergency off Power switch for Safety.
The cutting table was modded to stiffen the table near the Drive roller. (like the yard stick mod)
Added the “rubber band” mod with bushings for the pressure rollers.
Upgraded Stepper motors; all three are now VEXTA PK266-02A, 127oz

    Whats Included:
    * Original Phlatprinter Mk1 Modded as described above.
    * 3 upgraded stepper motors. VEXTA PK266-02A
    * Customized Harbor Freight 4-Speed Rotary Tool. It was modded to move where the power cord enters the tool. This unit is inexpensive and has been incredibly strong and reliable. http://www.harborfreight.com/profession ... 40457.html
    * 4 channel Stepper driver with spindle relay. This was one of the EBay boards from China and has run strong and Never had a chip blow. The Built in relay makes it nice not having to worry about turning the dremel on and off and when the cut is done the room falls silent.
*All powered by a 24V, 6.5A POTRANS POWER SUPPLY from MPJA

    * Several different bits in various sizes, from 1/16 to 1/8" as well as a couple of the original 1/8” tile cutting bits.

    * 2’ x4’ custom rolling wooden cart to house the machine and computer.

    * I will also include the computer that is driving the system. It is an old Pentium ?? system that has issues, (one of 2 HD controllers is bad), But it runs Ubuntu and EMC solidly. It is completely configured and calibrated for this machine. And many, many sheets of foam have been cut without problems using it.

I will also include a couple sheets of EPP foam and about ¼ bundle of Bluecor lay flat PP foam (plastic both sides), A DIY foam Sheet cutter for breaking down bundles. This is a complete package that should have you cutting foam the same day. Attached files [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Well, my first impression is to tell you that I'm sorry to hear you have to give up this fine machine, but then again, you are sacrificing it for a great cause!

I'll help to get the word out for you on the podcast, my friend!

Thank you sir, Giving up the printer, was a tough decision, the other decision was much easier. And will have rewards beyond measure, and that make the giving it up pale in comparison. I will still follow Mark and Tris on their great adventure, I enjoy seeing Mraks creative mind at work, It's just a good thing he's on our side. :)

I still say this is the best thing to hit the hobby since balsa! And every serrious modeler should own one! :D

Ok Back to the top, And adding an option.

Since some day I may get time to get back into the hobby, but will likely be buggetly challenged... Re-buying the electronics could be prohibitive. So If someone is interested, I will sell the MK1.5 and stand without the electronics for $250 It would come with ready to drop motors and electronics in and get cutting. I will include the Rotary cutting tool (Harbor Freight version of dremal) that is already installed and a stock bit. I can also include a set of the original (non upgraded) steppers. (not Installed)

So from the above listing you get everything EXCEPT:
    The 4 channel stepper controller,
    power supply,
    computer,
    Upgraded Steppers.
    The foam...

This is a Steal for someone looking to get into foam cutting on a budget. And once again Pick-up only from S.E. Michigan.

The Complete system is still also available as listed above (original post) for the $500 if someone is interested in a complete running system.

Ok, Final post before I tear the machine down sell it off for parts so I can get this thing into the hands of someone that will keep it out of a landfill.

So here's the deal, $400 (firm) for everything I can scrape together from the first post. (a lot of moving and storage has happened, so some things may not get found)

Still local pickup only, I just do not have the time or ability to handle getting it shipped. For someone trying to get into CNC on a budget you will never find a better deal. This is a wonderful machine and I would love to continue using it, but life has changed course for me and time is just not as abundant as it once was. I'll give this post a couple weeks, then it will get disassembled and bits and pieces listed on eBay, and rest will find a landfill... The controller, steppers, and Power supply are worth the $$ by themselves, At this price the machine is practically free.

    God Bless,
    Glen

    Thats a great deal Glen!
I am thinking its the local pickup that is the problem. Maybe you could call a few schools in the area and see if they have a cad department that would be interested for prototyping. Hate to see it be dissembled and not put to good use. :good:

Thanks for the support Mark and Trish, I love all the things you have done with this hobby, and think that this wil just continue to grow for you. I understand that the local only is likely the problem, but I truly have no time or ability to tyr and ship it. I guess I should give you an update on whats been hapening arround here since my first post in the thread. I am in school, and in Janurary was licensed by my church to the ministry, and on the 6th of April was voted in as their assistant pastor. But it dosn't stop there, because the The week after Easter, Our Pastor's Father-in-law (in Flordia) was taken to the hospital with an extreamly low heartbeat (34) and with him being in his upper 70's he wasn't expected to make it long. So off they went to take care of him and spend what time they could while he is still with them. So being assistant, Guess who gets to pick up the slack :D So what little time I had is now completely gone, And will be untill their return, that now looks like it may be after Memorial day...

But it is my calling and feels great, but when I originally thought I'd have now time for the hobby, I just had no idea how litttle I would have.
