I have under development 3 biplanes and now I have done the videos for most of the process. The planes are Roland CII, Fokker E III with deformable wings and pretty soon Airco D H II.
I have couple videos but I want you to let me know if actually you are able to understand and learn something from them. I had some small problems with PP but now everything is solved.
    So this being said... enjoy.

And first of the 14 videos, each around 10 min...

    PS.
I will leave some time between them, let say two a day.

That Fokker is a handful. The WS is 42" and the weight is around 17oz RTF. Because the nose is so short I had to ad 2.5 oz of led but if the wind is over 20mph you have no control over it.

Had a chance to watch last night. GREAT stuff.
Do you plan on covering how you make the unfolded shapes in Sketchup fit the folder shapes in the real world? This is the part I still have a hard time with .

rcav8r I hope you will understand right what I'm trying to say. First every and each model is different, also the way you decide to build it. The unfold in sketchup and then shrink the spars or ribs with the amount equal with the material thickness is a myth. Is no such thing as magic formula to get the spar/ribs to fit perfect the skin. Every strait edge and curve act different and has to be treated separately despite the fact that are from the same skin.
I will make a video on a model from start to finish as soon as I finish this one, in the same time if you or anybody know of a video screen capture program for Mac, please let me know.

I just what to let everybody know that my site is under maintenance, some major changes take place so it will take some time. I am one man band and is difficult to do all the web stuff, project build and test all the planes in a short period of time. But enough with the talk, time to bring you up to speed with the Fokker E III status... I did not went all the way with the details but is just a prototype...
Again, thank you Mark and Trish for this great tool. I still learn my way around but the sky is the limit when it comes to creativity.

Enjoy... Attached files [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Entire plane is FFF. Just the firewall is LitePly of 1/4 and landing gear is made from hardwood rounded sticks. I replaced the CF rod on LE with 2 bamboo rods embedded in the wings. They are strong and allow the torsion of the wing without any problem.

This wind is driving me crazy... but the plane behave good. This shape changing wings works and once the wind die down I'll have a blast.

I'm not flying the yellow Fokker E III in this weather... or the Rolland C II.
I build a Aviatic DI (MKI) and is waiting for "paint job"... :D Actually the MKII will have ailerons on both wings not only on the top one... Attached files [IMG] [IMG]
